Thanksgiving Break

Where did it go???? It went by so fast! Wednesday I had to work, but it's okay because I love my job! (that will be a later post) Every year Thanksgiving has been a huge ordeal.....a big dinner, games, movies, etc.  But not this year.....half of the family was in Chicago, so it ended up being my immediate family, my grandparents, my dad's sister and her family, and my mom's sister and her kids.  Even though it was very small, it was such a great day.  We all helped with dinner (yes, even me) and just goofed around all day.  That night my sisters and I went to Harry Potter 7! (my second time seeing it) It was all around a great day!

Oh Black Friday.....I have never been the type of person to get up at 1:00 AM and stand in line in the freezing cold and wait for stores to be open.  I just like to sleep in, get ready for the day, and then go shopping.  Don't get me wrong, I love shopping, just not in the middle of the night, in the freezing cold.  So Friday morning we all get up and head out about 9:00 AM. We hit Target and the Mall. By the end of the mall we are all tired out and just want to get home.

On to Saturday we go....one of the highlights (and kind of a lowlight) of Saturday was the BYU vs. U of U game! We are big BYU fans so Maddi, mom, and I decked out in our colors. What an awesome game to watch. (even though we lost) :(  It was the first game ever where we had our whole family watching. Such a great time!  Another one of my favorite things about Thanksgiving break is that we pull out our Christmas decorations and go crazy decorating the house!! A big highlight of my break was that I got to see my best friend! She deserves a whole post, so that will have to be a later post.

Sunday came...and it was over. I sure did miss my roommates though and was glad to see them! (they need a whole post too)

Thanksgiving is definitely not all about dinner, shopping, watching football, etc.  It is a time to remind us about gratitude and that we need to be grateful for everything we have.  I have always been grateful for what I have, but I have realized that I have taken a lot of it for granted. We really need to remember to be grateful every day of our lives.  I am so grateful for everything I have, my family, my friends, a place to live, food to eat, a bed to sleep on, the opportunity to gain an education, and so much more!

That's my weekend in a nutshell!
