C&O: DVD Box

So I have a minor obsession with crafts and organization. I have to have things organized and in an orderly fashion, or I have anxiety attacks.  Organizing everything and making crafts are a couple ways that relieve me of stress.  When things are cute and orderly, I function a lot easier and so that in turn makes my life a lot less stressful and a lot more fun.  I started following a lot of different craft and organizing blogs. (yes, that's how I spend SOME of my free time)  I love learning from other people and seeing all of their fun ideas.  So I decided, since this is like a journal for me, that every Saturday I will post either a craft I have made in the last little bit or some type of organization thing, whether it be a something I learned or how I organized a certain space.  I realized that it might be very boring for some of you, so that's why I only am doing it once a week.  And we will see if it even lasts. :)

The first project or craft that I want to share is my DVD box that I made a couple weeks ago.  I think it is so cute and a great organizational tool as well.  I went to my favorite store, Hobby Lobby, and bought one of those square wooden boxes.  The one a got had the cute furnishings on it as well.  I bought some red paint, and some gel wood stain.  I love the old, run down look.  I first did a couple coats of the red and then used to the gel stain over that to give that look.  For the inside, my parents had some file rod things, and my dad cut one down to fit inside.  I bought some CD sleeves from another one of my favorite stores, The Container Store. Don't judge me, I know I'm weird.  I cut the covers from the DVD cases down to fit, that way I know what the movie is and where it goes. For the front, I cut out the letters on the cricut, and then modpodged them on. And I used a little ink to distress the edges. Sorry, I don't have pictures throughout the process. I will in the future.

And sorry the pictures aren't very good. I also decided I want to learn a little photography. :)

I definitely have a lot learn, but for my first big craft, I am pretty happy with it! I can't wait to learn so much more!

Thanks for reading!
