GMI Journal

So at work, Sierra has been keeping a GMI Diary, which includes all of the funny moments or sayings that have happened. And I have to say, there are A LOT. I decided I wanted to keep them documented on here. Well, at least the ones that happen to/with me. I need to keep some things about the others private.


Last Thursday I was doing renewal phone calls. I just call people and let them know that their policy will be renewing soon. Just in case you were wondering what they were. :)  I had called an insured, and this is how the conversation went:

Me (when insured answered): "Hi, this is Shelby from GMI Insurance. How are you?"

Insured: "Oh, I'm just great."

Me: "Great! I'm just calling to let you know that your policy will be renewing in the next couple of weeks, and if you have any questions just let us know."

Insured: "You are such a good person."

Me: "Well, thank you. We are also letting our clients know......."

Insured: "Yes, you are a great person."

Insured: "Oh, and I like to tan everyday."

Me: "Ummmmmm...........Okay."

Insured: "And I like to tan nude."

Me: "Oh, well have a great day."

.....And then I hung up. How was I supposed to act?? Why would someone say that? I couldn't decide if I wanted to laugh, cry, or get angry. I was stunned. It took me a while to come back from my stunned state. I have never really had someone say something like that to me. Really people? People say the dumbest things.
